The Shape of Love and Hope, Art installation Part 3, mixed media, 09-2022

Part 3 of my art installation has been relocated from SCUOLA to a pedestrian bridge situated near the Chiesa di San Lazzaro dei Mendicanti Church. This decision was made because of the wooden wishing boards, traditionally used in Japanese temples for individuals to inscribe their personal wishes. Placing this installation in front of the Church was a deliberate choice to create a striking contrast and … Continue reading The Shape of Love and Hope, Art installation Part 3, mixed media, 09-2022

The Shape of Love and Hope, Art installation Part 2, mixed media, 09-2022

In an effort to further explore the concept behind the “Shape of Love and Hope” art installation, which I initially created at AIR3331 Tokyo in July 2022, I decided to evolve the artwork during my current residency. Instead of utilizing physical copper wire sculptures as the primary medium, I sought to reimagine the piece using the Transfer-printed method on small wooden boards. These black-colored wood … Continue reading The Shape of Love and Hope, Art installation Part 2, mixed media, 09-2022

MOUNTAIN IN MOUNTAIN, Monumental Sculpture on water feature, 10 meter diameter, mixed media, 2018 by Samues Leung

Is “mountain” a space or an object? Mountain is a kind of existence to feel through distance. The sculpture is made of metal, stone and dead wood elements. It is installed in the water. The fire owed to Wuhengzhong comes from the sun reflected on the mirror steel surface or the light in the pool water. The whole sculpture reflects mountains from … Continue reading MOUNTAIN IN MOUNTAIN, Monumental Sculpture on water feature, 10 meter diameter, mixed media, 2018 by Samues Leung
